Artist Call for Entry

Hot Works: Your Art. Our Passion.

Hot Works Fine Art and Craft Shows have been recognized 18 times by national magazines and artist organizations as one of the “Top 100 Art Shows In America”. Artists who know us well call us “family”.

We know how busy you are, and it’s our goal to make the application process easy so that you can get back to work making art! Returning artists may bypass the jury process with just a phone call! We also provide affordable  “Fly and Show” display rental option for all those artists who come from other states or just don’t have the time or energy to set up a Light Dome tent and Pro-Panels…. We do it for you!

From the moment you drive up to a Hot Works show, you can see the difference. We really care and our goal is to make your show experience pleasant and successful. We do everything possible to make it easy!

Our show locations are selected for their proximity to affluent neighborhoods, million-dollar condos, and five-star resorts in Boca Raton, Sarasota, Estero (Fort Myers) and Naples, Florida. After 20 years, our flagship Orchard Lake Fine Art Show in West Bloomfield Michigan draws the second generation of new art patrons.

At most of our shows, you’ll drive right up and park directly behind your booth giving you access to additional work all weekend long. If you’re flying in you can pre-order a rented Light Dome tent, Pro-Panel walls, or jewelry cases.

Our team will greet you with a smile, chilled water, snacks, and the support you need to make your show experience financially successful.

When the show opens you’ll discover the benefits of a high-level marketing and advertising campaign. Every show draws the most affluent art patrons in the region. From TV commercials, radio, newspaper articles, road signage, banners, digital and social media advertising, and email blasts to our huge list of quality art patrons.

How do you know a show is good for you? The answer is in the number of returning artists. Twenty years after our first show launched… we’ve learned how to promote and produce shows that keep artists returning year after year.

Artists rely on us for keeping out the buy/sell and import fraud. Our juried selection process is supplemented by interviews, references, and raw materials supplier information to assure our patrons and artists of quality. The quality and authenticity of the art presented are important to us. When there’s any question we deal with it!

Over the past two decades, we’ve grown a large list of loyal patrons and developed successful marketing strategies and partnerships that attract a wide range of affluent, buying patrons to our shows. It’s the reason why so many of our exhibiting artists return year after year to Hot Works shows.

Hot Works Fine Art & Craft Shows are consistently ranked as some of the best-juried art shows across the United States.

How we promote the shows

With 30+ years of media & event experience, we know how to reach out to the community, and to reach the people with the means and cultural interest to purchase fine art. For all Hot Works events, advertising and promotion includes broadcast television, print, radio, billboards and digital marketing partnerships. In addition, there are banners, posters, and post cards distributed within the communities.

Are Hot Work shows a good fit for you!

  • Art must be original and handcrafted by the artist who is present at the show.
  • Artists must be present during the entire open hours of the show and must personally staff their booth.
  • Work must match the proportions depicted in submitted images.
  • For fiber/bead artists: if the beading is sophisticated sewing and art in itself, it will be considered for acceptance into Hot Works events; otherwise Hot Works frowns against “beaders” that merely string their work, which refers to buying the beads and sewing it on a string. Hot Works will individually consider such applications, but our decision is final.
  • No sharing booths unless all artists are represented in juried images.
  • Limited electricity. Please let us know if you are bringing a generator. Artists expecting to bring generators must, in their applications, disclose equipment description and where you expect to place the generator.
  • Prints and reproductions are accepted when clearly labeled and limited to 30% or less of work displayed.
  • Photography, digital, or giclée art prints must be limited editions of 250 or less, signed and numbered, and printed on archival quality materials.
  • We define “Photography” as the art or process of producing images by the formation of an image on a light sensitive surface or by an acceptable digital printing process. If applying in the “Digital” category, digital art prints must be made from the artist’s original digital file.
  • Each artist must provide enough work to exhibit and sell during the entire time of the art show. Artists who break down or leave early before closing time on any day of the event will not be permitted to return the following day or to future Hot Works shows unless proof of an emergency is provided.
  • An artist package is mailed approximately one month prior to the show and will include 20 post cards. Please advise if a different quantity is needed; we are happy to provide you with as many postcards as you need.
  • Booth assignments are at the sole discretion of the event and are not interchangeable. Hot Works will accept and, do its best to honor, special location requests, but cannot make any guarantees. Corner spaces are available for purchase and are assigned solely on availability and discretion of the event. Booth assignments and map of event will be available on the website a minimum of one week prior to show date.
  • When setting up your tent, the entire aisle must have the front of the tents lined up, with no protruding items in the front of your tent.
  • Paintings or other art are not permitted to be displayed on the ground, unless it as shown in your booth image submitted with your application and approved by the event.
  • Artists can only hang the sign that is provided by the art show.
